About The Artist

Sam Lindberg is a Portland-based multidisciplinary artist who focuses mainly on chainmaille and quilting. He grew up in Huntsville, Alabama where he first saw chainmaille in 2013 and instantly had a connection to the craft. After taking a single class from a local artist, he took to the online chainmaille world and learned numerous weaves and is always looking for new ones to master.

Now, 13 years into his craft, Sam sells at local Portland art markets. His instagram page has current information about his next event and showcases his recent projects. Soon he hopes to have some larger pieces in galleries around the city.

Sam uses stainless steel for all of his jewelry, and anodized aluminum for his larger tapestry pieces. Steel rates a 5-6 on the Mohs Hardness Scale, whereas aluminum rates a 2.5, making steel ideal for frequent wear and use, and aluminum best for decoration.
